relativistic beta 
\beta = \frac{v_j}{c}
Lorentz factor 
\Gamma = \frac{1}{\sqrt{1 - \beta^2}} (often written as \gamma\,\! and referred to as relativistic gamma)
Doppler factor 
D = \frac{1}{\Gamma (1 - \beta \cos\theta)}
